Kamarvo shows what used cameras and lenses sell for and are offered at, pooled from camera shops across Europe and the US. It is a non-commercial project: no ads, no tracking, no affiliate links.
Every night Kamarvo reads the public catalogues of the shops below. A listed unit is an asking price; when a shop marks a unit sold, or it moves to the shop’s sold list, that is a sale, priced at the last price it was offered at. Each model page leads with Kamarvo’s estimate: recent sales blended with the median asking price, the sales counting for more the more recent and numerous they are. With no recent sales it is the asking price, and it moves gradually, as prices do. No shop counts for more than a third of an asking median, so a shop listing many units at one price does not set it alone. Prices from other currencies are converted at the European Central Bank’s daily reference rate.
Listings are matched to models by their titles. A listing that cannot be matched with confidence is left out rather than guessed at, so coverage is deliberately below 100%. Units for parts and new units are kept out of every used price.
Specifications, product photos, new prices and release dates come from Sharply. Live listings in the eBay panel come from eBay’s API and are not part of Kamarvo’s figures. Kamerastore’s Certified averages are Kamerastore’s own published figures, shown as theirs. Links to MPB go to MPB’s own listings; Kamarvo reads nothing from MPB.
Kamarvo’s crawler identifies itself as Kamarvo with a link to
this page, reads robots.txt before every crawl and follows it, fetches one page at a
time with pauses between requests, and slows down when a shop asks it to. It reads only
what a shop publishes for anyone to see, and Kamarvo shows aggregates and links back
— never a copy of a shop’s catalogue. Shops that would rather not be included, or have any other concern, can write to [email protected].
